Carlton Cuse: I think basically the plan though is to do it in the spring of next year.

Damon Lindelof: Well actually January or February of next year, so the late Winter. In the beginning of the calendar year of 2008. No one was happy with the six episodes …and now that the show is on at 10 o’clock, I think everyone’s plan, barring any last minute changes from the network, is to air the show in a continuous run like 24 in the sort of spring television season.

• Libbys Abwesenheit war nicht beabsichtigt und sie wird wieder in Staffel 4 sein.

• Die Vorausblenden von Staffel 4 sind im Wesentlich eine "Staffel-innerhalb-einer-Staffel". Die nähreren Angaben waren nicht geplant aber anscheinend wird es einen Mix aus Rückblenden und Vorausblenden geben, jedoch mit einer größeren Anzahl Vorausblenden.
• Die Vorausblenden erzählen eine geradelinige Geschichte, aber werden als nicht-geradliniges Format von dem Blickwinkel verschiedener Charaktere, präsentiert.

Set stills show Locke reunited with Sawyer, Sayid, Desmond, Juliet, Bernard and Hurley on a mission to the cockpit. Sawyer carries an automatic rifle, a FN FAL. Another pic shows Ben, bloodied and tied up. A third pic shows Jack and Kate. Jack is holding a walkie talkie, while Kate touches his face tenderly.

Later on Matthew Fox and Ken Leung were spotted filming on the coastal rock-set as well. Jack was also wearing the same outfit that the had on in the season 3 finale. Like Daniel, Leung wore a black vest, but this one was attached to a parachute. Nearby lay a helmet. Leung's character apparently just had landed on the Island by parachute and was pointing a gun at a startled Jack.

Mark Forrester
All ethnicities, 40s, nice looking, a cocky, not afraid to argue corporate player willing to risk his position for a promotion in a company buy-out.

Melissa Waters
All ethnicities, 40s, attractive, self-assured and formidable. Successful in a man's world and competing against a co-worker for a highly-valued promotion in a company buy-out.

Arthur Galzethron
All ethnicities, 60s, wise and fair but doesn't suffer fools gladly. President of a company during a corporate buy-out and must make a decision about an in-house promotion.

There are two locations being used -- the now familiar YWCA, and the basement of the Hawaii State Capitol. More significantly, at least one of these shoots is for a scene taking place in Los Angeles. There were armed L.A. police and Sheriff's uniforms about, as well as scruffy members of the media among the extras.

Ray 40s-50s, any ethnicity, psychiatrist, cold, professional type who can do what's necessary to get the job done... Very nice co-star that could turn into a possible recur as a guest star

Alfred. 40s-50s, Caucasian, British, cool and calm under pressure, knows his place in society and knows how to handle members of the upper classes... Co-star. impeccable british accent.

Bannerman. Mid 40s, any ethnicity, narcoleptic, can fall asleep at the drop of a hat, but has an important piece of information to tell. A very smart technician by trade... Guest star.

Billy. Mid to late 20s, Caucasian, British, a good buddy to have, willingly to listen but won't take too much gruff before he'll knock you in line... Nice co-star. impeccable british accent.

Foley. 40s - 50s, any ethnicity, British, physically fit, tough task master, unrelenting. A performance reminiscent of R. Lee Ermey in "Full Metal Jacket"...Nice co-star. impeccable british accent.

Larson. Late 20s - 30s, any ethnicity, smart, dangerous but capable of charm and humor. Tough military type. Follows orders and doesn't question them... Guest star, possible recur.

Keamy. Late 20s - 30s, any ethnicity, dangerous, physical - a great tactician, loyal friend and the last enemy you ever want. Military type. Follows orders and doesn't question them... Guest star, possible recur .

Chandley Price. Mid 30s to early 40s. Female. She is tough, no-nonsense and beautiful in an unadorned way. She is a therapist by profession and yet could benefit from some therapy herself. The qualities that make her a leader and effective at seeing into other people also cause her problems in her own life -- she can be overly controlling and obsessive. Her strength of personality is undeniable. Guest star / recurring

Huston: 50s, male, Caucasian, weathered face, salt and pepper hair, a man who immediately commands great authority but someone you don't want to cross. He has a job to do and he doesn't allow anything to get in his way - even the death of his employees...Guest star

Doctor: Male, early 30s, Korean. Professional and accomplished, a calming presence in times of crisis. Working his regular shift, he gets more than he bargained for. Must be able to speak Korean...Co-star

Shopkeeper: Male, Korean, any age. Pleasant, eager to please the customer and make a sale, cool under stress, able to deal with difficult customers and keep them happy. Must be able to speak Korean... Co-star

Regina: Late-20s to early 30s, any ethnicity. Tough, formidable, someone who could take an order and execute it flawlessly but who is now a shell of her former self; nervous and paranoid. Nice co-star .would prefer to have a stunt woman but not crucial.

After this filming, the crew had to rush off to report to the day’s second shoot: a scene with Sun … at a funeral.

Gus is an "inner-city, unruly character type. He's a sketchy business owner who preys on human weaknesses. Happy to exploit any opportunity he sees"

Noreen is "Very tough on the outside, nurturing on the inside. Confronted with something from her past, she defends herself well, despite the emotional toll."

• Fisher Stevens (Minkowski) said he would be returning to Hawaii to resume filming his role on Lost.

• Julie Carlson, the extras casting director, looked for people of all ages who had a Middle Eastern or Arabic appearance.

• Ishmael Bakir. Middle Eastern, 40s, should have a slight natural accent, a high-ranking businessman who carries himself with a sense of quiet menace. We get the impression that this distinguished man has the capacity for great violence. Guest star.

• Desk clerk. African (Tunisian), female, any age, French-speaking. Cold to some guests, but gracious to the wealthy. Must have a British or French accent. Co-star.

• Doorman. 50s, British, white, distinguished. Uniformed doorman works for a luxury building. Co-star.

• Bedouins. Two Arabic men, any age, must be able to speak Arabic. Stunts required - Must be able to ride a horse. Co-stars.

• Features a dusty, rubble-strewn Middle Eastern town. Military trucks and wrecked cars stood guard in front of roadside stands selling pottery and used luggage. A large archway seemed to serve as the centerpiece of the scene. Sayid and Ben make appearances.

• Sayid is one of the pallbearers at his former love, Nadia's, funeral

• one of the apartments on the third floor of the building in the back looks blackened and burned out
• there's a restaurant/bar area on one side
• the car in the center has a wooden structure around it marked with "top" and "bottom"
• the archway just behind it had scrapes on the side of it as if the car had ploughed through it and scraped the sides.
• there are posters of Saddam Hussein on the walls painted over with graffiti

• Taxis said Tikrit Taksi.

• Episode 4x09's title will be "The Shape of Things to Come."

• There was some filming action going on at The Barracks. Sawyer, Locke and Hurley were on set. They were filming a scene with Sawyer talking to a group of kids. They were also filming a scene where one of the barrack houses was on fire, and a lot of men dressed in military uniforms and warpaint with guns stormed the barracks.

• the Barracks are under attack
• Locke: "These people who are coming, you are scared of them, aren't you?"
• Ben: "I am."
• Hurley is in one of the houses, holding a crying Aaron and asks someone else (offscreen) "Is that Claire's house?"
• Sawyer: "Why slaughter people without even telling us what they want?"
• In the background it sounds like Alex is screaming, "Oh my god!"
• Ben: "Welcome to the war, John."
• Smoke monster roaring in the background
• Hurley: "We are all going to die."
• Smoke Monster appears earlier in a scene with Jack and Kate

• The production crew built a new barracks/house just so they could blow it up.

• "The Shape of Things to Come" - Locke's camp comes under attack, and Jack tries to discover the identity of a body that has washed ashore.

• A raging gunfight will decimate Camp Locke
• Episode 9 is a flash-forward adventure for globe-trotting Ben, in which his war with British billionaire Charles Widmore over control of the Island will intensify
• Episode 9 also revisits a long-simmering subplot: Sayid's romance with Iraqi love Nadia.
• Scenes were shot in a rock quarry, involving horses, machine gun fire and Ben dressed in a woolly winter parka.
• Michael Emerson commented that recent shootings involved Ben in combat, riding horses, speaking foreign languages and playing piano.
• During EW's stay on the set, Garcia prepared for an encounter with Smokey, and Holloway was spritzed with fake sweat and a touch of blood in advance of a raging gunfight. Daniel Dae Kim fished that mystery corpse from the surf.

• Claire's house blows up. Someone running towards it, flies through the air.
• Sawyer: Get inside!
• Jack: Were you ever gonna take us of this island?
• Ben: You wanna live? I'm your best chance
• Keamy: I'm gonna kill your daughter
• Ben: Everythings gonna be ok
• Alex: Daddy...

• The body that is washed ashore is that of Doc Ray.

• There's an explosion that injures at least one survivor of Flight 815.
• The Freighter people start wreaking some major havoc on the Island's inhabitants.

• There will be a spectacular death in this episode
• We'll see the smoke monster make a long awaited come back

• The death that Ausiello is talking about is NOT Doc Ray.

• The invasion of the island commences. In the first 15 minutes 3 characters are killed (minor ones). Later in the episode some one is shot in the head execution style, but it’s not who you think if you’ve seen any promos. This character is a major one.

• All (or most) of the minor Losties who joined Team Locke (those with no speaking lines) are killed by the freighties.
• Sawyer kills a couple of freighties, saves Claire and Aaron, and escapes with them and Miles, thinking he might be able to use Miles as a hostage. They begin to head back to the beach.
• Miles makes it clear that the freighties don't care about him.
• Ben controls the Smoke Monster and uses it to kill all of the freighties who attack the Barracks (except Keamy) to Locke and Hurley's amazement.
• Keamy makes the Smoke Monster retreat with a device that apparently produces some kind of electromagnetic reaction.
• Ben escapes with Locke and Hurley, but Alex is shot dead by Keamy.
• Jack discovers that Charlotte has been speaking to the freighter this whole time with another phone and has told them where Ben is located.

• Ben spielt Piano, plötzlich stürzen Locke und Saywer rein. Locke fragt, was "Code 14J" bedeutet. Auf Bens Frage, woher er diesen Code habe sagt er, das Telefon hätte geklingelt und jemand hatte immerwieder "Code 14J" wiederholt. Ben geht zum Schrank, holt eine Flinte raus, lädt sie durch, gibt sie Saywer und sagt, dass sie sofort ins andere Haus müsssten, da sie von da aus eine bessere Sicht auf den Wald hätten und sich besser verteidigen können. Auf Lockes Frage wovon Ben redet sagt dieser: "Sie sind hier!"

• Jack is taking some antibiotics when Kate enters the his tent. Jack tells her that he has an stomach bug and the two talk. After a while of mild flirting, Kate asks why the freighter hasn't made it to the beach yet and Jack tells her that he has a gut feeling that they'll make it off the island but Kate points out that he said his gut was sick. The two laugh and then hear a distressed voice calling for help outside along with Vincent barking senseless. The voice belongs to Bernard and Kate, Jack and Juliet, who also heard Bernard, run towards him. The camera looks down to see a body of an almost-bald man with a lab coat washing up to shore. Bernard tells them that he heard the dog barking and went over to investigate. As Jack and others begin to lift the body, the Sneak Peak ends.

• Locke, Sawyer and Hurley holding Aaron all sit in Locke's house playing risk when all of a sudden the telephone rings. The three look extremely suspicious as Locke gets up to find out who is on the other line. Locke answers the phone and a woman's voice repeats over and over again "Code 14J". Locke is bewildered and Hurley asks who it is as the scene cuts to that of the ABC Sneak Peak 1.

• Hurley is still holding Aaron in Locke's house while Locke and Ben barracade the front door with a bookcase. Locke tells Hurley to get away from the window as Hurley asks how Sawyer is going to get back in and Ben informs him that he won't. Outside, Sawyer is armed with a gun and walks around the barracks and comes across Doug holding firewood. Sawyer asks if he has seen Claire leave her house at all but Doug doesn't answer the question and is confused. Suddenly, Doug is shot right in the middle of his chest and dies, blood spraying all over Sawyer. A blonde woman comes out of the house to look at Doug's body and Sawyer yells at her to get inside but is too late as she is also shot and killed. Another man comes out of the house to observe the two dead bodies and before Sawyer can even finish warning to get back inside, the man is also shot and killed. Sawyer runs through the Barracks screaming for Claire and narrowly dodges gunfire, using a picnic table as a barrier. Sawyer unsuccessfully shoots into the vegetation hoping to hit somebody. Sawyer continues to call for Claire and makes it just outside her house as he sees what looks like some sort of bazooka fire towards Claire's house. Sawyer gives one final scream and runs in vain to Claire's house as it explodes. Sawyer can not believe it and continues to scream Claire's name. Suspensful music is heard and the sneak peak ends.

• Ben leads the resis­tance against the freighter fiends working for cranky billionaire Charles Widmore, while in his flash­forward adventure, he does battle in the Tunisian desert and spies on a funeral in Iraq.

• Walt's Island visitations are alluded to in episode 10, but that's it for explaining the mysteries of Walt for the rest of season four.

• Dr. Erika Stevens. Female, African-American, late-30s or older. An intelligent, caring doctor who is not adverse to putting in long work hours to help her patients. Nice Co-star - 2 scenes.

• Dr. Stillman. Male, 50s, any ethnicity. A kind, but no-nonsense psychiatrist who reaches a wall with a patient and has to reach out for help. Co-star.

• Hale Kuhina was transformed into the Santa Rosa Mental Institute, once again. A sign with the institute's name was set up on the back lawn, within view of the Hawaii State Hospital building that previously appeared in a Hurley and Charlie scene. A clean-shaven Matthew Fox was on the set. Jack’s Ford Bronco (that so far only has been seen in flashforwards) was parked nearby. A man dressed as a doctor and a couple of burly orderlies were also sighted.

• A shooting took place inside HPU’s Frear Center on the second floor of 1132 Bishop Street. The scene was set inside St. Sebastian Neurology Clinic, bustling with doctors and nurses in scrubs and white smocks. Matthew Fox was there, of course. But so was John Terry. One scene took place at the hospital’s front desk, and another inside Dr. Jack Shephard’s office.

• This episode will be a flash-forward installment for Jack. "We're starting to close the loop on the end of last season. Jack in the future is a man marked by weakness, but the Jack of the present is strong. You're going to understand how he made that transition."

• When Jack's health is seriously compromised, Kate and Juliet must learn to work together in order to save him
• Something goes wrong as Sawyer, Claire, Aaron and Miles continue their trek away from Locke’s camp and back to the beach.
• Guest starring are Ken Leung as Miles, Jeremy Davies as Daniel Faraday, Rebecca Mader as Charlotte, Jeff Fahey as Frank Lapidus, Sam Anderson as Bernard, L. Scott Caldwell as Rose and Kevin Durand as Keamy.

• Jacket will be revisited in episode 10

• Jack collapses, unconscious, on the beach. Expect Juliet to take charge and perform emergency surgery.
• Sawyer, Miles and a banged-up Claire, holding baby Aaron, make a ghastly discovery in the jungle: one dead body and an extra dismembered arm. Surprisingly, the con man turns all Big Brother on the single mum.

• In the future, Hur­ley imparts a chilling message from Charlie to Jack.

• Jack's making another unsettling visit to Hurley in the psych ward.

• Anticipate more revelations about Juliet's increasingly affectionate relationship with Jack

• Charlie will appear in this episode.

• Doc Ray's body washing ashore on the Losties beach was connected to the "time implications" on the island.

• Sawyer, armed with a gun, is travelling through the jungle. Claire with Aaron, and Miles are with him. After Miles offers Claire a helping hand, Sawyer makes it clear to him that he is under a restraining order. Suddenly Lapidus appears, carrying a first aid kit. Sawyer doesn’t recognize him, but Miles does of course. Lapidus warns them to hide, because Keamy is and his men are coming on their way back to the helicopter. They hide, and soon enough Keamy and a couple of men appear. At least one of them is badly hurt by the Smoke Monster. In hiding, Aaron makes some noise and Keamy is alerted by it. Lapidus tries to distract him by telling they need to get to the helicopter before dark ….

• An opening shot of Jack’s eye. He has blurry vision. Juliet tries to wake him up and is concerned for him because he obviously isn’t well. She needs him because there’s a confrontation going on between Bernard and Rose on one hand and Daniel and Charlotte on the other. The latter say the freighter can’t be reached anymore and the former accuse them of lying about it. Jack interferes and acknowledges that the freighter people have been lying. He says that the other people of the boat will come for Daniel and Charlotte, and that the survivors will be ready for them. They just have to be patient and he will keep his promise to get them off the island. After that, he collapses.

• JULIET: Should his appendix rupture, he's gonna die.
• JACK: I want Kate.
• VOICE OVER: The leader falls, yet the war will not end.

• VOICE OVER: The island of Lost has many dangers. In the most powerful all-new Lost of the season, the island takes one survivor for it's own.

• JACK: If something happens to me..
• MILES: I didn't sign up for this!
• SUN: We can't trust them.
• JULIET: He's gonna die.
• JACK: Ooooahhhh!
• JULIET: Kate! Get outta here!
• JULIET: Knock him out!

• Charlotte has a big, crazy night scene with someone interesting.
